  • Select your destination at the homepage and navigate to the citypage.
  • Send a request with your trip details and tell local guides what you want to see and do.
  • Locals reply to your request with their personalized offer.
  • Choose your favorite local guide and complete the booking.
  • After your payment, you receive contact details to get in touch. Meet up and create awesome memories!
  • After completing your payment, the contact information of your local guide will appear in your Hi,hi Guide account at My Trips. This also works the other way around; the local guide receives your contact information.

    Make sure to get in touch with your local guide to set your meeting point and to personalize your experience.

    The payment methods include creditcard payments with VISA, Mastercard and American Express. All payments are processed by our payment service provider Stripe. Read more about how Stripe handles your personal data at https://stripe./com/privacy

    Yes! All Hi,hi Guide experiences are 100% private. Why would you follow a flag, right?

    No, it's not possible to contact local guides individually. You always have to send a request first. Local guides reply with their personalized offers and you book your personal favorite. After the payment, you will receive the local guide's contact information to get in touch.

    Send an email to hi@hihiguide.com to notify us you want to delete your Hi,hi Guide account and personal data.

    FAQ for Local Guides

  • Sign up and create your Hi,hi Guide account!
  • Write an awesome profile so travelers get an idea who you are, what your interests are and what you have to offer them.
  • Wait for us to screen your profile, so we can guarantee a level of quality. We will also schedule a short call to introduce each other.
  • If everything is fine, it means you're the newest local guide at Hi,hi Guide!

    You can receive your earnings either through IBAN bank transfer (only within Europe SEPA countries) or PayPal (Worldwide). No transaction costs will be charged for bank transfers. In some cases, PayPal charges a transaction fee. These will be on your behalf.

    You will receive your earnings two days after you have completed your tour.

    20% of the booking amount.

    Example: When you enter €10 per hour, travelers pay €12,50 per hour. Your earnings are €10 and 20%*€12,50=€2,50 is our commission. So, the hourly rate you enter, is the hourly rate you get.

    You are responsible for your personal tax declaration. Tax regulations differ from country to country. Check with your local tax authorities to which laws you need to comply to.

    Here are a few quick tips to get more bookings: Create an awesome profile. Reply quickly to incoming requests from traveler. Formulate clear offers regarding the things you're planning to see and do during your tour.

    Cancellation Policy

    If the traveler cancels within 7 days before the date of the tour, the paid amount will not be refunded. The local guide will be fully compensated for blocking his/her agenda.

    If the traveler cancels more than 7 days before the date of the tour, the paid amount will be refunded. In this case, the local guide will not be compensated.

    If the local guide cancels, the paid amount will always be refunded.

    After a local guide has cancelled a tour, we will always contact him/her to find out what went wrong. If we feel the local guide is abusing the platform, we will delete his/her Hi,hi Guide account.

    We do everything within our power to prevent these situations from happening. However, we do not have control over the actions of our local guides. Local guides who do not show up at a booked tour are immediately removed from our platform.

    Our policy is to pay locals their earnings 48 hours after the tour, so please let us know as soon as possible your local guide did not show up. Otherwise, we might transfer money to a local guide who did not earn it.

    Safety

    In order to become a local guide at Hi,hi Guide, locals have to pass our screening. We screen the profiles of local guides and verify their personal information. Also, we have a call for a short introduction.

    Local guides are reviewed by travelers who have booked them. These reviews give you a good impression of what a local guide is like. If a traveler leaves a negative review, the situation will be examined by us and the local guide will be deleted from the platform.
